I'm making a list and will try to keep it updated in this top post.
Here you will find some proven, heavily recommended ArmA mods or tools that will enhance the game significantly.
Feel free to suggest other addons that should belong here or ask for removal of some of these.

Game launchers


goArma
Create server profiles and launch everything with just one click. A profile includes amongst others server IP/pass, teamspeak login, what mods to enable.

Yoma's Addon Synchroniser
More than just a game launcher, this tool can check a server's addon repository and download all you need to play on that server. It is bandwidth efficient because you only grab what's changed. Can be used to distribute missions too.

In case you're wondering how to activate these mods with the beta: look in your game folder for the shortcut "Launch Arma Beta Patch".
Right click, then properties. Edit the Target field that reads something like:
C:\Games\ArmA\beta\arma.exe -mod=beta -nosplash

Make it to look like this:
C:\Games\ArmA\beta\arma.exe -mod=beta;ModWarSound;@voice_quiet -nosplash

Then click OK. Launch the game with the shortcut and you'll be using these mods. Of course, assuming you have those 2 folders, ModWarSound and @voice_quiet already in your Arma folder.

Predator's Modern Warfare sound mod was updated to v0.155_SO_RC2

Replaced voice_quiet with map_novoice - same result, 8K instead of 10M in size.

I'm having a blast testing the ECS mod - http://www.ecsteam.online.fr/ - one of the best mods ever made for ARMA.
Many great sounds and the environmental fx change the game a lot, huge immersion factor.
Look for an updated, much improved mod setup in a few days on the EU server.

Soon, very soon, will have a better setup on the EU server that will need some testing. Also will require you to install the ECS mod I posted about and a Yoma sync after that.

So i cant get Yoma to Launch the game.... 
  First is the; Addon 'ASR_AISkill' requires addon 'CA_Hotfix' ,which is a YOMA error, (and on both servers) ,

then ;'No entry 'bin\config.bin/CFgDifficulties/Regular/Flags.VonID'.which is a ARMA error.
and last, after a black load up screen back to desktop( all in seconds after hitting ok on the error) [b]Error compiling pixel shader PSAlphaOnlyMod[b]

Hmmm... These all sound to me like you have the incorrect set of mods active.  Yoma is a bit confusing since what is checked on the left in the launch tab is not necessarily accurate.  Check the list of mods that it is planning to activate (and their order) on the lower left of the window.  Mess with the checkboxes until that is "correct" (e.g. beta112;@ECS;@ASX) and then try launching.
