ASR updates

General discussion about ARMA, the OFP successor.

Well, frankly I think it's just stupid and counter-intuitive to have multiple base soldier classes with so different armor configs. There should be just one setting and then tweak the armor of every equipment piece. Here's how it looks now:

Wow, BI.. what in the ... that is crazy. I'll forward this to some people and see whats up. Counter-intuitive indeed.

Ok that being what it is I'm assuming that means more work for Robolo...or are these untweakable?

They are already tweaked, values from last line are applied to all those units since yesterday's ASMODS update.

For KK, using an existing worn sage texture in game and adding just the configs to make it usable:

There's a hidden one that comes in woodland too.

Hey brothers,

Just a little update. I apologize for my absence and lack of updates.
Time for games has been short as usual mainly due to work and family priorities but I'm still poking at the mods and testing stuff in Arma. My local copy of the AS mod set was butchered due to yet another re-write of everything and I was a bit overoptimistic about putting it all back together. That explains why I limited the server updates to official patches only.

I'm also in the process of buying a new place to live. Finally signing papers this week for a new apartment. My options were limited since I'm already in debt for life on the current tiny matchbox we live in. So I had to make a compromise and we will move out of Bucharest to a nearby village into a new residential complex. It's only about 25km from work and close to the small Magurele town where they're building the largest laser in the world. In the long run I think getting out there is a good thing. Will be moving in a rush around end of this month/start of september because we'd like to transfer the girls to the new school when they begin and we have to rent this place ASAP to reduce some of the expenses.

I hope to stabilize and get back to fun and games soon.
